WERDEGANG/QUALIFIKATION
Carolin is currently working as a postdoctoral research associate at the Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester, UK) on a project carried out in collaboration with Bobst Manchester Ltd. (Heywood, UK) investigating the conversion of aluminium oxide coated polymer films for food packaging applications.
She holds a PhD from the Manchester Metropolitan University, where she has been working as part of the Surface Engineering Group (Dalton Research Institute) from 2010 to 2013. Her PhD studies focused on the examination and characterisation of aluminium oxide barrier layers on biaxially oriented polypropylene film.
In 2010 she graduated with a 1st class Diplom-Ingenieur's degree in Food Technology and Biotechnology from the Technische Universitaet Muenchen (Munich, Germany), previously obtaining a Bachelor's degree in the same subject. Her final year project on plasma treatment of biaxially oriented polypropylene film was carried out at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV (Freising, Germany).
Carolin has published several peer-reviewed papers and technical magazine articles and is regularly presenting at international conferences such as the SVC (Society of Vacuum Coaters) and AIMCAL (Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators) annual technical conference.
