From Robert Hueber and Torsten Erwied - After a brief introduction about Herrmann Ultraschall and the basics of ultrasonic welding, we will discuss the advantages of this technology for flexible packaging. Beside the exciting insights into the history of wet pet food, the strengths of sealing with ultrasound, especially under difficult filling conditions (e. g. filling with freezing products) or filling in sensitive packaging materials (e. g. mono films) will be explained in detail. Practical examples from various fields of application, from food to pet food, complete the overview and make the ultrasonic welding of head seams in stand-up pouches even more comprehensible.

The presentation shows the reasons for choosing these basis materials, the kind of used print technology and how the pouches are manufactured and filled up. The presentation closes with the information how to promote the stand-up pouches in the hairdresser’s shops by the use of a display.
